Althea Projects Incorporated (Althea Projects) is a grass-roots, community based not-for-profit service based in Townsville.
From 1974 to present, Althea Projects (formerly known as Wee Care Family Incorporated) has been consistent in our commitment to supporting and strengthening the capacity of vulnerable individuals, families, children and young people within Townsville and surrounding regions. Althea Projects operates in an integrated, person-centred approach with other service providers and key stakeholders in working with individuals and families across the full range of complex issues people face. The organisation operates from a child centred family focused and culturally inclusive framework.
Althea Projects currently delivers or supports various programs and initiatives to support individuals and families across the Townsville, Burdekin and Charters Towers regions.

Human Services Quality Framework
The Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) is a quality management system for assessing and improving the quality of human services and promoting quality outcomes for people who access these services. It is applied to organisations funded by the Queensland Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. Althea Projects has a number of programs which are funded by the Department and as such is required to go through a certification process to become HSQF compliant.
The Human Services Quality Standards (HSQS) which underpin the HSQF are based on the following principles:

Althea Projects is HSQF certificated with HDAA Australia Pty Limited for the Althea Projects Foster and Kinship Program and Wee Care Residential programs which are both funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
